Burrowing Owl

Burrowing Owls are native to my home state of Colorado. They migrate from Mexico and Southern states, arriving in late March and leaving in mid November.

These owls generally nest in abandoned prairie dog burrows, thus the name Burrowing Owl. They are most prevalent in the prairies in the Eastern part of the state.

This painting is acrylic on an MDF hardboard panel, measuring 18" x 18" and 2" thick.

I definitely plan to paint more at some point, but it's not my focus right now.
