1776 Founder's Edition Humidor
This humidor is finely crafted to celebrate American heritage, a tribute to the legacy and ideals of our great country's founding fathers.
I am proud to be a direct descendent of both a signer of Declaration of Independence (Benjamin Harrison V) and two Presidents of the United States (President Benjamin Harrison and President William Harrison), with my ancestors having first come to the Americas in 1649 (Virginia Colony).
Crafted of Jatoba hardwood with Ebony accents and lined with Spanish Cedar. The lid is carved with the Betsy Ross flag and the year 1776, while the front of the box is engraved with the Founder's Edition tag in early American script.
The inside of the humidor is engraved with Benjamin Harrison's signature from the Declaration of Independence. I would consider making additional boxes with signatures of other Founding Fathers if there's interest.
Dimensions are 15" wide x 9" deep and 5" tall.
Spanish Cedar is the wood of choice for the inside of a humidor. It helps regulate humidity, imparts a mild, pleasant cedar scent that complements and improves cigar flavors during aging, as well as helps deter tobacco beetles and mold.
This humidor is designed to hold two Boveda size 60 packs for humidity control. It features brass quadrant hinges, a brass analog hygrometer, removable dividers and bottom grooves for air circulation.
The inside of the lid is carved with the 1776 tag, 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies, "Liberty or Death," as well as Benjamin Harrison's signature from the Declaration of Independence.
Craftsmanship
Look at those hinge mortises!
Jatoba!
Jatoba is one of the hardest hardwoods in the world. I discovered its beauty when I selected the wood for the haft of my Soul Taker war club. A prized and exotic hardwood, though difficult to carve properly due to interlocking grain. But done right, it's stunning and finishes beautifully.
Functional
With the center divider removed, a Glock 17 fits nicely while leaving room for cigars. Just in case you need to lay down suppressing fire while enjoying your cigar.
Ebony Accents
West African Ebony is used for the splines and lid pull. Looks great!
