We are going to win.

2023

In early 2023 Greenpeace unveiled a large artwork by artist Benjamin Von Wong to cast shade on Bitcoin energy consumption. The move was a complete fail and one of the biggest self-owns of all time. The message was little more than FUD that was widely ridiculed as unfounded and lacking basic understanding of Bitcoin's energy usage.

The artist himself later denounced the message and acknowledged the benefits of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin as an industry is one of the biggest users of renewable energy, proportionately. Bitcoin incentivizes the use of stranded energy. Bitcoin miners stabilize the grid by buying energy when other demand is low, quickly powering down when other demand spikes. It's a huge benefit to humanity to (1) create renewable energy, (2) capture stranded energy, and (3) stabilize grids.

Not to mention the fact that securing the value that people create and use to transact is an extremely noble use of energy.

This Counter-Art is intended to make a statement that everything is good for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a new path forward for financial freedom and self-sovereignty.

This piece starts with carved Cherry hardwood, which I have inlaid with Jade (green), Howlite (white) and Black Tourmaline. The inlay is set in casting resin that is enhanced with photo-luminescent powder so it glows in the dark!

The eyes and gold tooth are gilded with 24K triple gold leaf.

The piece measures 10.6" wide, 13.3" tall and 1.03" thick.
